Day 1, Day 8 - Tarragona, Spain
The Roman town of Tarragona is situated on the Costa Dorada in Catalonia. A beautiful destination combining cultural appeal with fabulous beaches. Tarragona is the first large seaside town south of Barcelona. The town also offers a number of historical sites including churches from several different periods and a well preserved Roman colosseum. The town itself has the usual Spanish assortment of plazas sprinkled with cafes and tapas bars.
Day 3 - Savona, Italy
A part of the Italian Riviera near Genoa, Savona is a city rich in history and enterprise, largely centered around its port. A tour of the city may include a visit to "Columbus's House," a former residence of Christopher Columbus nestled in the Savona hills. Or one may visit Savona's most important monument, the Priamar, a recently-restored castle stronghold located near the port. Savona is overlooked gem with lots of sparkle compared to some of the other tourist destinations in Liguria.
Day 4 - Porto Torres, Sardinia (Italy)
Lying on a plain that descends towards the Gulf of Asinara, Porto Torres is one of the most important little towns in the North of Sardinia. There are numerous archaeological complexes found in the territory of Porto Torres, such as the Thermal baths, the “Palazzo of Re Barbaro” and the “Turritan Antiquarian” Museum. The Turritan archaeological area is in fact the largest in Sardinia. Both the Basilica of San Gavino, the Island’s largest Romanesque church, and also the Roman bridge are remarkable.
Day 5 - Mahon, Minorca (Spain)
Minorca is a beautiful unspoiled island of green pastures and white-washed villages. Stroll through the cliff-top town of Mahon, visiting one of the lovely churches, or spend a relaxing day on one of the islands pristine beaches. Stroll the picturesque harbour of Mahon. Venture to the cliff-top monastery at Monte Toro. Plaça de s’Esplanada - This is Mahon’s main square. The narrow streets to the east of the square comprise the oldest part of the town. The Arc de Sant Roc, a 16th-century archway at the top end of Carrer de Sant Roc, is the only remaining relic of the medieval walls that once surrounded the old city.
Day 6 - Ibiza, Spain
As your ship pulls into the port of Eivissa (also known as Ibiza Town), you will have a fine view of the impressive fortifications. An easy stroll along the cobbled streets takes you to the lively downtown area of shops and restaurants. D'Alt Vila, the old town dominates the port and seafront. With its historic buildings and stately mansions, D'Alt Vila is the very heart of Eivissa. Step inside the cool recesses of the 13th-century Cathedral of Nuestra Senora de la Nieves (Our Lady of the Snows) or visit the Archaeological Museum, where the island's history is well represented. As the sun arcs overhead, pause in an outdoor cafe for a glass of chilled Ibizan sangria.
Day 7 - Palma de Mallorca, Spain
The largest of the Baleares Islands off Spains Mediterranean coast, Mallorca is a popular European resort. Enjoy the cosmopolitan charms of the city of Palma or use it as a base to explore Mallorcas Roman ruins, picturesque villages, beaches and spectacular caves. Poised on a sea wall above the marina, the city's massive gothic cathedral is a breathtaking sight. Known locally as La Seo, it is home to the world's largest rose window as well as an ornate wrought-iron canopy above the altar designed by Baldacchino.
