Puerto de Mogan

Even though much of Puerto de Mogan is modern, it still has considerable charm.

The new development around the harbour has been tastefully done, and it's easy to spend a relaxing couple of hours here.

As well as being a popular holiday town, it's still a busy working fishing port, and the marina is full of yachts from all over Europe.

Puerto de Mogan is a tourist magnet, and the shops, cafes and restaurants around the marina are much as you'd expect. You can find banks and more day-to-day shopping in the streets behind the beach.

Be aware that the town gets extremely busy on Fridays - it's market day.

There are a number of excursions from the harbour - including ferries from Puerto Rico and Arguineguin.

If you take either the submarine or glass-bottom boat trip, make sure that it's a calm day, as you may not see much in rougher seas.

Coming by car, you can either park by the new shopping centre and the Hiperdino supermarket and walk down the paseo into the town, or you can try and find a space near the harbour. If you do park in a pay and display area, make sure you do, as the traffic wardens make regular patrols.
