Olbia Sardinia gay tour

Magical Sardinia Gay Tour Itinerary

Day 1
Benvenuto a Sardegna!
After your arrival in Olbia, you’ll make your way to the hotel on your own. Why not be adventurous and take public transport and get your first taste of everyday life in Sardinia? But you could also just hop in a taxi and start your gay holiday in style!

In the evening, you’ll finally meet the other guys and set off on a tour of the area with your guide. At the harbour, you’ll see cars swarming out of the ferries like ants while locals enjoy their sundowners at Piazza Regina Margherita. How about a mirto rosso or bianco to get into the Mediterranean mood?

Accommodation: Essenza Hotel, Olbia

Cala Gonone Sardinia

Day 2
Jet-setters and beach bums
On the Costa Smeralda, the Mediterranean sparkles like a sea of emeralds while the rich and famous bathe in pure luxury. Don’t bother trying to catch a glimpse of them - they mostly keep to themselves. Enjoy the endless string of picture-perfect beaches and stroll around the sunny marina instead! But who knows? Maybe you’ll bump into Tom Cruise!

After some fun in the sun, you’ll continue south to Cala Gonone! With its snow-white limestone cliffs against the bright blue sea, it’s no wonder that this paradise is a favourite among climbers! Now off to the beach - and for the grand finale, jump into the sea.

Then it’s time to get dressed for our welcome dinner – buon appetito e cin cin!

Meals Included: Breakfast & Welcome Dinner
Accommodation: Nuraghe Arvu Hotel, Cala Gonone

Cala Luna Sardinia

Day 3
Hiking adventures
Like chamois, you’ll climb up dramatic rocky paths for three hours to reach Cala Luna: a picture-perfect bay, complete with white sandy beaches and waterside caves.

After having your fill of the breathtaking scenery, you’ll return to the hotel by water taxi - just in time for sundowners. Put your feet up, let the ice cubes clink in your glass and enjoy the panoramic view of the sea and the cinematic sunset.

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Nuraghe Arvu Hotel, Cala Gonone

Gorropu Gorge Sardinia

Day 4
The Grand Canyon in Italy
Today the “Grand Canyon”, tomorrow the “Caribbean” – Sardinia is the entire world in one place!

You’ll cover the first leg of today’s gay adventure tour by jeep and the second in your hiking boots. It’s a two-hour trek to the spectacular Gorropu Gorge. The cliffs rise almost vertically from the riverbed, which is dotted with gigantic boulders as far as the eye can see. If you didn’t know better, you wouldn’t believe you’re in Bella Italia. In the evening, exhausted but happy, you’ll return to Cala Gonone.

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Nuraghe Arvu Hotel, Cala Gonone

Sardinia gay boat trip

Day 5
Time to set sail
By boat, you’ll cruise along the coast of the Gulf of Orosei.

Get ready to enjoy some fascinating contrasts: cliffs, white sandy beaches, turquoise waters – quite literally Caribbean flair in the heart of Europe! Set your smartphone to slow motion – dolphins could jump out of the water at any moment!

Plunge into the water with your snorkelling gear to get a glimpse of the fascinating sea life below. Sun, sea, salt on your skin – a perfect gay holiday!

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Nuraghe Arvu Hotel, Cala Gonone

Sardinia gay tour - Castello Malaspina

Day 6
Across the island:
Time for a change of scenery - from the east of the island, you’ll head west on a panoramic road with a stop at the ancient Church of Santa Sabina.

In Bosa, you’ll experience Sardinia at its purest: fishing boats, an idyllic old town, olive groves and sprawling vineyards.

You’ll stroll along the cobblestone streets of Corso Vittorio Emanuele before climbing up to Castello Malaspina for a sweeping view over the Temo Valley to the sea.

In the afternoon, you’ll arrive in Alghero on the west coast of the island. Why not end another day of gay adventure with a leisurely stroll along the beach promenade followed by a sundowner at the beach bar?

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Catalunya Hotel, Alghero

Sardinia Alghero gay tour

Day 7
Where the walls breathe history
In the morning, you’ll explore the winding cobblestone streets of Alghero. The influence of Catalan colonial rule can be seen everywhere in the old town. Catalan is still frequently spoken in addition to Sardinian - and of course Italian!

Take the afternoon to explore on your own - do some shopping or relax on the beach.

At the harbour of Alghero, you’ll find more sightseeing boats and fancy yachts at the pier than fishing boats these days. If you feel like it, take a boat tour to the fascinating Grotta di Nettuno - Alghero’s most famous attraction.

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Catalunya Hotel, Alghero

Sardinia gay tour - Punta Giglio

Day 8
Beach or hiking or both?
Sleeping in today? Get out of bed and head towards the coast instead - gay adventure awaits you!

Why not join your guide on an idyllic hike through the fragrant maquis - a unique Mediterranean plant ecosystem made up of dense evergreen shrubbery including aromatic myrtle, heather, and arbutus.

The hike ends in Punta di Giglio where the refreshing water beckons you to take a dip before heading back to Alghero! The sea is guaranteed to wash away any lingering tiredness.

Meals Included: Breakfast
Accommodation: Catalunya Hotel, Alghero

Cagliari Sardinia gay tour

Day 9
Next stop - Cagliari
Get ready to be transported back thousands of years today.

From Alghero, you’ll head to Barumini in the south of the island where a one-of-a-kind experience awaits you: the nuraghe - the mysterious Bronze Age stone structures for which Sardinia is famous. You’ll make your way through the largest excavated nuraghe complex on the Island: Su Nuraxi.

Later in Cagliari, the capital city, you’ll stroll past palaces, stately boulevards, and luxury yachts - such a contrast. Your city tour kicks off at Piazza Yenne where the Castello provides a stunning backdrop for a great snapshot! Is there anything going on in the Castello district tonight? And where’s the most beautiful stretch of beach here? Make sure to ask your Scout for some tips at the farewell dinner before saying "arrivederci". Find out and make the most of your gay holiday!

Meals Included: Breakfast & Dinner
Accommodation: Italia Hotel, Cagliari

Gay Cagliari tour

Day 10
So much to explore
Use the day to explore the city on your own! Treat yourself to Sardinian delicacies at the Mercato San Benedetto, learn about the artefacts found in the nuraghe at the National Archaeological Museum, or admire contemporary art at the Galleria Comunale d’Arte – the choice is yours!

If you haven’t had enough beach time, why not head to Poetto Beach for one last day of fun in the sun? Windsurfing, snorkelling, and sunbathing are always a good idea on a fun-filled gay holiday!

Why Sardinia?

• Sardinia feels like a world of its own. One moment you’re gazing across emerald waters on the Costa Smeralda, the next you’re hiking through limestone cliffs to a hidden bay or cruising past dolphins along the Gulf of Orosei. The island’s landscapes are pure drama - gorges as deep as canyons, beaches as white as sugar, and cinematic sunsets that linger long after the last glass of wine.

Sardinia gay beach

• But it’s not just the scenery that makes Sardinia unforgettable. Life here unfolds at an easy pace: locals chatting over sundowners at the piazza, fishing boats bobbing beside sleek yachts, trattorias serving rustic dishes bursting with flavour. From the prehistoric nuraghe to the Catalan echoes of Alghero, every corner tells a story layered in history and culture.

Gay Cagliari

• For gay travellers, Sardinia offers a relaxed and welcoming vibe. While its queer scene is smaller than on the mainland, the island’s openness and friendly spirit make it a safe and comfortable place to explore. Combine that with stunning nature, rich traditions, and the simple joy of Mediterranean living, and Sardinia becomes more than just a getaway – it’s a discovery of beauty, culture, and freedom.

Gay Sardinia holidays

• June is one of the best times to visit Sardinia – the island is bathed in sunshine, the sea is already warm enough for swimming, and the beaches haven’t yet filled with the high-summer crowds. Days are long and golden, perfect for hiking coastal trails, exploring ancient sites, or chatting with friends over late dinners under the stars. It’s Sardinia at its most relaxed and inviting.
