Sink into nature alongside a group of like-minded women. Roam the Rainbow Nation on this immersive and wellness-focused lesbian safari. Things kick off on the outskirts of Johannesburg before quickly swerving into the country’s famous savannahs. Daily game drives will showcase the last of Earth’s megafauna including elephant, lion, zebra, giraffe and buffalo.
Together we’ll soak away the daily-grind in steaming hot springs, stretch our hamstrings during guided bush treks and share stories and life-experiences over world-class dinners. If all goes well, we’ll walk away from this experience with a better understanding of South Africa and ourselves.
Please note: This tour is wellness-focused. Some travellers are from the sober community and while you’re welcome to enjoy a glass of wine during dinner, this is not a party vacation.

Day 2 Rise and shine, Ladies! Today’s journey begins with a 5-hour scenic drive north-east past Pretoria towards the most northern part of Kruger National Park, stopping for lunch en route. Our resort is near the famous Tshipise fault lines, formed between the late Paleozoic era 545 million years ago and early Mesozoic era 248 million years ago. The region is named after its steaming natural hot springs—Tshipise literally means “something warm”. After settling into our quaint accommodations, consider a revitalising dip in the gorgeous pools. In our opinion, this is the best way to wash off the daily grind and begin our journey together anew. Alternatively, the resort is located underneath a small mountain called Tshipise koppie. If you’re feeling ambitious you can surmount the tower for a beautiful vantage of the baobab peppered landscape. Dinner will be at our accommodation.

Days 3 - 5 Our day begins with a 2-hour drive to Pafuri Gate. This entrance into Kruger National Park technically brings us into historic Makuleke Contractual Park where our very own private camp awaits. For the next three days and nights we’ll see untamed, unfenced, untethered African bush. From sun-up to sun-down we will explore the region by foot and vehicle. Our guided treks are through extremely remote stretches of African bush, hopefully granting us encounters with zebra, giraffe and impala. Meanwhile, game drives will take us deeper into the park where we can safely observe elephant, lion and leopard. In the evenings we’ll kick back in our unique accommodation consisting of spacious two-person tents, cozy beds, chemical toilet en suite and separate hot water shower facilities. The unfenced camp is next to the Luvhuvu River, which means ‘visitors’ come and go, especially at night once the campfire goes down. With everyone safely in their tents, we’ll place a nocturnal camera to capture the passing wildlife: civets, genets, hyenas, leopards, porcupines and more.

Day 6 After three days exploring Kruger National Park’s northern territory we head south. Our journey will be slow as we enjoy game drives along the route. If Lady Luck is on our side, we’ll photograph plenty of the region’s more aquatically-inclined fauna including hippo, waterbuck and an array of birdlife. Meanwhile on land, we’ll likely see parades of elephant and dazzles of zebra. Tonight we enjoy another delicious dinner at Shingwedzi camp.

Day 7 We’ll start our day with a drive through the park and end at The Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, just an hour outside the park gates (roughly 4 hours, stop and go). Our accommodation for the night is in a private residential wildlife estate home to impala, wildebeest, greater kudu, southern giraffe, warthog and other non-threatening plains game. In fact, the absence of elephant, buffalo, lion and rhino means you can explore the estate’s greenbelt area on foot, by mountain bike or on horseback. After some free time we’ll reconvene for dinner.

Days 8 - 10 Pucker up! This morning you have the rare chance to smooch South Africa’s famous hippopotamus, Jessica. This fabulous lady has a darling story that we’ll share at the time. We promise you’ll be smitten. After our brush with celebrity, we spend our remaining nights in the heart of the Timbavati Private Nature Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The Greater Kruger National Park Area is a joint venture between the Kruger National Park and the Associated Private Nature Reserves, an area of more than 20,000,000 Ha (or more than 4,9421,076 acres—the size of Nebraska!). Our home for the next 3 nights is the stunning Tanda Tula Safari Camp, a luxury tented camp. The camp is completely unfenced, merging luxury with the natural environment. You have plenty of options here to cap off your tour: join any/all of our two daily game drives, stretch your hamstrings on optional guided walks, or unwind by the glistening pool. Each evening we’ll come together again for some of the best meals on tour.
