Although the focus of our cruise is mainly on sightseeing and socializing, we do like to mix in a bit of frivolity. With that in mind, we normally plan a couple of themed deck parties during the cruise. You can choose to participate (with costumes as over the top as you’d like) or just be a voyeur! Party themes will be announced four months prior to departure.

Day 1 - Longyearbyen (Svalbard), Norway
Longyearbyen, the largest settlement in Svalbard, serves as the administrative hub for Norway in the archipelago, boasting top-notch services and infrastructure. Nestled deep in the Adventfjord, a branch of the Isfjorden, the town features a year-round accessible airport, though its harbor is winter-blocked by ice. With most amenities, including shops, hotels, restaurants, and a hospital conveniently located within walking distance of the port, Longyearbyen also hosts the UNIS center and the Svalbard Museum, offering a unique blend of education, history, and natural exploration. The town showcases remnants of past mining activities both within its bounds and the surrounding areas.

Day 5 - Wollaston Foreland, NE Greenland National Park / Clavering Island, Greenland

Day 6 - Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord, Greenland
The majestic Kaiser Franz Josef Fjord is surrounded by imposing mountains, showcasing the raw beauty of the Arctic landscape. As the ship navigates through the icy waters, passengers may witness calving glaciers, creating impressive displays of ice breaking away and plunging into the sea. The fjord is also known for its rich wildlife, with opportunities to spot seals, seabirds, and possibly even elusive Arctic wildlife like polar bears. Day 7 - Ittoqqortoormiit, Greenland
Ittoqqortoormiit has a very remote and vibrant Inuit community, which provides a unique cultural experience. Nestled along the rugged eastern coast of Greenland, this settlement provides a glimpse into the local way of life, with colorful houses dotting the landscape and a backdrop of breathtaking Arctic scenery. Travelers can engage with the friendly residents, gaining insight into their traditional customs, arts, and daily routines. The surrounding area also presents opportunities for wildlife sightings, including polar bears, seals, and various bird species. Ittoqqortoormiit stands as a gateway to the Arctic’s authentic charm, where visitors can appreciate the resilience and rich heritage of the Inuit people amidst the stunning Arctic wilderness.
Day 8 - Hurry Inlet / Scoresbysund, Greenland
The eastern coast of Hurry Inlet is one of the richest locations for Triassic plant fossils in the world and, in addition to many important plant fossils, the remains of the dinosaur Plateosaurus and early mammals have been found. Also in Carlsberg Fjord, footprints made by a small carnivorous dinosaur have been found.
The Scoresby Sund in East Greenland is the largest fjord in the world. People from the Thule culture lived here until about 1800. In 1925 about 70 inhabitants from Tasiilaq, Ammassalik ( 800 km to the south ) repopulated the area in the settlement Scoresbysund.
It was part of the Danish strategy to forestall the Norwegian claims on Northeast Greenland. This population has grown to about 500 people in the last century, but is shrinking the last few years. Until 1985 connections with the outer world were kept by ski-plane to Reykjavik, helicopter to Mestersvig and plane to Kangerlussuaq, and ship to Danmark.

Day 10 - Reykjavik, Iceland
In the southwest of Iceland near Faxaflói Bay lies your final port of call, the capital of the country, Reykjavík, simultaneously cosmopolitan and charming. On the horizon beyond the colorful houses, the Northern Lights may cast a mesmerizing spell that will make you want to stay forever. Kaleidoscopic views await you at the Harpa Concert Hall, a glittering, glass structure that perfectly exemplifies Iceland’s modern design and will fascinate your inner architect. One of Iceland’s most prominent landmarks is Perlan, originally a group of hot water tanks that was converted to a building that now hosts an exhibition, planetarium, restaurant and observation deck, located atop Öskjuhlíð hill.
No excursions are scheduled here, upon disembarkation you may either take advantage of our included airport transfers, extend your stay in Reykjavik on your own and we’ll provide a transfer to your independent accommodations, or join our optional post-cruise tour.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule my flights?
Arrival: You should schedule your flights to arrive in Svalbard Airport Airport (LYR) on or before July 31st. Boarding will commence at 4 pm. We recommend arriving the day before to avoid any airline delay issues.
Departures: The World Voyager is set to arrive in Reykjavik at 8am on August 9th. You should schedule your flight from Reykjavik Airport (KEF) or (RKV – Domestic) to depart on August 9th at 12 Noon or later.
What are the passport and visa requirements?
Citizens of most countries are required to have a valid passport, which expires at least 6 months after the last day of your travels. Any citizens from a non-EU country, who do not require a visa to visit an EU member state for a short term stay, will require ETIAS for entry. This includes residents of the US.
What arrival and departure transfers are included?
Arrival: transfers are provided from the Svalbard Airport (LYR) to the ship or to an area hotel, if you’re arriving prior to the cruise.
Departure: transfers are provided from the ship to either Reykjavik Airport (KEF or RKV), or to your Reykjavik hotel and no further transfers will be provided.
Are excursions included?
Yes, generally one excursion per port is included as part of the cruise fare.
