Day 1 - Barcelona, Spain
One of the busiest cruise ports in the Mediterranean, gay friendly seaside city of Barcelona is known for its iconic architecture, colourful culture, and world-class drinking and dining. Explore Antoni Gaudí’s surreal Sagrada Família, the famous boulevard of the Ramblas, the medieval Barri Gótic, and the Museu Picasso. But there’s even more to discover in this sprawling Spanish city, from hidden tapas bars and fabulous food markets to Europe’s biggest football stadium.
Day 2 - Marseille (Provence), France
On the spectacular coastline of the French Riviera lies Marseille. This atmospheric port city is known for its unique mix of grit and glamour, seen in its labyrinth of streets and historical architecture. Only a few miles from Marseille’s charismatic cafes and bustling Vieux Port, stunning cities are to be found. Visit Aix-en-Provence, birthplace of Cézanne, or take in the ancient beauty of Avignon.
Day 3 - Genoa (Portofino), Italy
The port city of Genoa is the gateway to Italy’s glamorous riviera. Wander down its winding medieval alleyways, take in historical, Piazza Matteotti, and admire a magnificent cluster of 16th and 17th-century buildings. Genoa’s heritage as a naval power is evident in La Lanterna, a historical lighthouse built in 1543. Beyond the city, romantic towns can be found nestled along the coastline, including the gelati-coloured Portofino.
Day 4 - Naples (Pompeii), Italy
Dating back to 2nd millennium B.C., Naples is one of Italy’s ancient jewels. Boasting a vibrant historical centre set around a striking harbour bay, discover architectural landmarks, masterpiece artworks, and sumptuous food. The dormant volcano of Mount Vesuvius offers a picture-postcard backdrop. From the city, travel further afield to the archaeological site of Pompeii or take in Capri’s glamorous culture.
Day 5 - Messina (Taormina), Sicily (Italy)
Marvellous Messina, sitting pretty on Sicily’s Ionian Coast, is the ultimate Italian treat. This MSC Mediterranean Cruises destination is noted for its natural beauty and historical sites, including cathedrals, monuments, and museums. Travel south to see stunning sea towns and villages, such as Taormina or visit the famed Mount Etna, an active volcano and a focal point in Greek Mythology.
Day 6 - Valletta, Malta
The Maltese archipelago is a region of remarkable landscapes, historical architecture, and three UNESCO World Heritage Sites. On the island of Malta, cities such as the baroque Valletta and the medieval Mdina unveil the island's ancient past. Voted European Capital of Culture for 2018, Valetta is home to 16th-century buildings, enlightening museums, and a stunning waterfront promenade. Every year, the city plays host to a number of important village feasts and a colourful carnival.
Day 7 - A Day at Sea!
While at sea, take the time to recharge before the next adventure. Lounge by the pool, be spoiled at the spa, taste the delicacies or explore the venues on-board, until we arrive at the next amazing destination.
Day 8 - Barcelona, Spain Barcelona has a vibrant gay scene with numerous bars, cruise clubs, saunas, nightclubs and regular large-scale dance parties. The Barcelona LGBT festival is usually held in late June with the community coming together for a week of culture, sport, entertainment and celebrations. In recent years, Barcelona has become Europe’s gay summer party hot spot (taking that title from Ibiza).
