Gay Phuket combines tropical white sandy beaches with intense nightlife. Phuket is one of Thailand’s largest cities and tourist spots as such it has one of the biggest and most active gay communities around. Patong is the largest town on Phuket and home to most of the nightlife both gay and straight. Phuket is Thailand’s largest island, roughly the same size as Singapore, and it’s linked to mainland Thailand by a bridge. The island is located on the west coast of Thailand in the Andaman Sea.

Thailand has some of the most stunning beaches in Southeast Asia. The island of Phuket has a huge array of options from the most visited beach of Patong to the secluded beaches like Mai Khao, Haad Sai Kaew, Banana, Freedom and Yae Beach.

The nightlife in Phuket is probably the most crazy and energetic in all of Thailand. Perhaps the only rival would be Bangkok that has an equally large and thriving gay scene. You’ll find all the gay venues located in Patong and grouped together in an area called Paradise Complex, which is comprised of several gay bars, clubs, saunas and other gay venues.

Langkawi, the Jewel of Kedah, is a district and an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, some 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. The islands are a part of the state of Kedah, which is adjacent to the Thai border.

Take a flight to Phuket, Thailand (HKT) and take taxi to Ao Chalong Pier. Give us a call for pickup and transfer to the vessel. Group dinner on shore.

Immigration check out and sail for Langkawi, Malaysia.

Days 3 - 5, November 13 - 15, 2018
Remote Thailand Islands & Beaches
We will be taking our time to get to Langkawi with nice places to stop. Captain Philip loves remote beaches where you are free to relax away from the crowds.

Located 47 kilometers northeast of Phuket, the spectacularly scenic Phang Nga Bay is dotted with over 100 islands and is one of the best sailing grounds in the world. The bay is bounded by Phuket island to the west, Phang Nga and Krabi provinces to the north and east.

The bay is famed for its limestone (karst) formations and cliffs that rise vertically up from the warm turquoise waters, the highest of which protrudes 350 m from the seabed. Many of these are fissured with caves which can be reached by sea kayak or dinghy. As well as many islands, the bay contains many inlets and channels waiting to be explored.

Phang Nga Bay also boasts a unique rock formation and the island of Koh Ping Kan, made famous in the James Bond film “The Man with the Golden Gun.” After visiting Koh Ping Kan, just a few minutes north is the Sea Gypsy village of Koh Pan Yi. This village is built almost entirely on stilts, over the water at the base of the towering limestone cliffs of Koh Pan Yi.

Day 6 , November 16, 2018
Arrive in Langkawi, Malaysia
Arrive Langkawi, Malaysia and immigration check in. We should be checked into immigration by 5 pm just in time for dinner. You have the option of joining Captain Philip, and his husband, or selecting from many restaurants ashore. Captain Philip enjoys going to The St. Regis Lankawi Resort. Of course, you may come along. Dress code is resort casual. This means a polo shirt, and khaki shorts.

Day 7 , November 17, 2018
Langkawi, Malaysia
Depart by plane or high speed ferry back to Phuket. Alternately, stay another night aboard and go on a shore excursion to Langkawi Sky Bridge.

This is seventh and last leg of Philippines to Thailand gay sailing cruise.

Day 8 , November 18, 2018
Langkawi, Malaysia
Final day of the entire trip from Philippines. The vessel will stay in Langkawi until December 2018 when it begins 1 week trips from Phuket.

Long range plans for the vessel are to do a haul out and some minor painting projects in April 2019, and then to head to Cambodia and Vietnam.

The pilot house and salon down below comfortably protect the maximum 8 guests that we allow per trip. Two king size bunks and 4 single bunks. Every bunk has a cooling fan as well as reading light. We have 900 watts of solar to power the watermaker and your laptops.

Captain Philip does not claim this is a luxury yacht. Instead it is a comfortable cruising vessel. It has kept everyone safe, well fed, and showered, across the Pacific. Safely arriving is of course the primary goal. It also nice not to be hungry or smell like a sailor.

If the winds are low, please be assured there is an adequately sized engine to power us to our destination. The engine is kept in top notch condition with a full set of spares.

The decks are white and insulated. This means the vessel is almost always nice and cool even in full sun. Additionally, the temperature is regulated with fans and evaporative coolers.

Captain Philip purchased HOT BuOYS SV in 2009 and has sailed her 1/2 across the Pacific as well as to and from Thailand several times. He knows every square inch of the vessel and would be happy to teach you as much or as little of the vessel operation as you would like to know.

Noli and Captain Philip have been sailing together for the past four years and look forward to welcoming you to their floating home on the sea. Depending on the trip, there may be one or two additional crew members to assist in the galley, and to keep the vessel clean.

Admiral Marina Yacht Club

Certainly, everyone likes fine dining. There will be opportunities when we are staying at a yacht club like the Admiral Marina Yacht Club pictured above. Please be aware that when a sailboat of this size travels for an extended period of time, meals have to be kept simple and wholesome out of necessity. This said we will attempt to surprise you with what we can do with our full size galley including an Italian oven. If you want to try your hand and prepare a meal, by all means, tell us so we can shop for the ingredients.

We don’t advertise this as being a “nude” gay trip. The reason is there will be times and places that nudity is acceptable, and where it is not acceptable. Further, some countries frown upon nudity. Captain Philip is a gay naturist. He certainly has no problem with nudity. Noli, his husband, loves his fancy underwear. Just don’t expect to see them off. He is a bit shy.
