On a Brand g European river cruise, every night is opening night. Our cruises always include two featured acts (occasionally three) who provide nightly entertainment throughout the cruise.
Although the focus of our cruises is mainly on sightseeing and socializing, we do like to mix in a bit of frivolity as well. With that in mind, we’re planning a couple of themed deck parties during the cruise. If you should choose to participate great, if you’d rather just be a voyeur that is totally fine as well.
Frequently Asked Questions
When should I schedule my flights?
Arrivals: You should schedule your flights to arrive in Prague International Airport (PRG) on or before August 30th. Your first event will be a welcome cocktail reception at approximately 5:30pm on August 30th.
Departures: You should schedule your flight from Budapest (BUD) to depart anytime on September 8th. The boat is docked in Budapest overnight from the 7th, and therefore you may disembark as early as necessary to catch a morning flight. All guests to disembark by 10:00am.
Or, you may choose to extend your stay in Budapest with our post-cruise hotel nights at the Intercontinental Budapest.
What arrival and departure transfers are included?
Arrival transfers are provided from the Prague Airport (PRG) to the Marriott Prague Hotel.
Departure transfers are provided from the ship to the Budapest Airport (BUD).
If you extend your stay at our host property the InterContinental Budapest, you will be provided with a transfer from the ship to the hotel as well as a transfer from the hotel to the airport following your stay.
Contact our team to ensure arrangements outside of these arrival and departure transfers will be included. Booked guests should provide their arrival and departure details 45 days prior to the trip to ensure transfer availability.
What should I expect on the included shore excursions?
Excursions during your travel program are mostly in groups of 25 people led by expert English speaking local guides. Utilizing wireless audio guides enables you to hear every word of your travel guide at absolutely all times. It provides maximum flexibility and convenience without missing a moment of fascinating commentary and is compatible with hearing aids.
What if I have dietary requirements?
We will make every effort to accommodate special dietary requests. Please inform our office at least 45 days prior to departure of these requests.
Will there be smoking areas?
The comfort and safety of our guests is our first priority. Smoking is not permitted in the suites or enclosed, public areas on board. There is a designated smoking area on the Sun Deck. Land properties will have designated smoking areas.
Is there a dress code?
You are on vacation and the last thing we want to impose is a dress code. We will however appreciate you wearing more than a thong or mankini at dinner and in the bar/performance area. Be as dressed up or down as you see fit as long as you are comfortable and dress appropriately for changeable weather.
What weather can I expect from this trip?
During August, Europe is at the peak of the summer heat. The days can reach the mid 90s and the evenings are in generally in the 70s.
What are pre-paid gratuities?
Gratuities are customary expressions of appreciation for a job well done. It is our goal to ensure that the service you receive is as wonderful as the sites you visit. Gratuities for the included portions of this program have been pre-paid. At your own discretion you may choose to provide additional tips.
What are the passport and visa requirements?
Citizens of the US and Canada are required to have a valid passport, which expires at least 6 months after their last day in European Union. Starting in 2025, the European Commission will roll out a U.S. style electronic travel authorization system for visitors from countries that are currently not part of the EU.

Day 1 - Prague, Czech Republic
Arrive in Prague and transfer to your hotel (Prague Marriott Hotel). The balance of the day is free time to start exploring this beautiful city. Meet your fellow guests at welcome gathering in the early evening at approximately 5:30pm. (Welcome Reception)

Day 2 - Prague, Czech Republic After your included breakfast meet your guides and explore beautiful Prague. Your afternoon and evening are free to mix with the locals at Wenceslaus Square, shop for souvenirs or enjoy one of the charming cafés or restaurants. Wander along the banks of the Vltava River, relax at an outdoor restaurant, or shop for local handicrafts and art work.

Your expert guides will lead you through the city visiting the Church of Tyn, see the famous Astronomical Clock and walk over the spectacular Charles Bridge.

Day 3 - Prague / Passau, Germany (Embarkation)
After breakfast and a morning at leisure, we venture from Prague through the pastoral countryside to Passau, where the Rivers Inn and Ilz join the Danube. We’ll make a stop along the way for lunch.
Upon arrival to Passau we will board the Amadeus Silver III, your home for the next seven nights.

Day 4 - Passau / Linz, Austria
Welcome to Passau, the “City of Three Rivers”, situated at the confluence of the Danube, Inn and Ilz Rivers. Today brings choices of tours after which you return to the ship for a departure to Melk.

Tour of Salzburg (Optional) Enjoy a coach ride to Salzburg — the city of music and best known as a film location for the famous movie "The Sound of Music".

Tour of Passau - Morning Join us on a gorgeous walk through the old baroque city of Passau known as “Little Venice”.

Tour of Linz - Afternoon Discover the upper Austrian state capital Linz where the Habsburg Emperor Friedrich III spent his last years.

Day 5 - Melk / Durnstein / Vienna, Austria
Cruise through the narrow Strudengau and reach the Wachau Valley early this morning to arrive in Melk, to visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey. Return to the ship for lunch and a scenic sailing through the romantic Wachau Valley. Or, opt for a scenic 17.5 mile ride along the river. Late this evening, arrive in Vienna, the “City of Music” and Austria’s magnificent capital.

Bicycle Tour (Optional)
Enjoy a scenic 17.5 mile leisurely bike tour from Melk to Durnstein along the river bank of the Danube surrounded by dramatic scenery. (Schedule permitting, finish with a walking tour of Durnstein) Duration approx. 5 hours
Day 6 - Vienna, Austria
Today explore the vibrant Austrian capital and savor the Baroque elegance of romantic Vienna on the guided city tour. The remainder of the day is yours to explore the city in your own way.

Tour of Vienna This scenic coach tour of the famous Ringstrasse, features inside visits to St. Stephen’s Cathedral and the National Library Duration approx. 3.5 hours
Day 7 - Vienna, Austria Another day in Vienna is yours to enjoy as you like. Relax onboard, stroll the city at your own pace or take the included tour of spectacular Schonbrunn Palace and its gardens. This evening, take in an optional Mozart and Strauss concert at the beautiful Kursalon in Vienna’s city center.

Tour of Schönbrunn Palace – Morning Travel by coach to one of the most beautiful sights of Vienna, Schönbrunn Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. Duration approx. 3.5 hours
"Sound of Vienna" Concert - Evening (Optional*) In the very place where Johann Strauss himself once directed his orchestra, the true essence of Vienna’s classical music can once again be heard. Duration approx. 3 hours *This excursion is book through Amadeus and billed to your onboard account.
Day 8 - Bratislava, Slovakia / Budapest, Hungary Bratislava, known as Pressburg until 1945, is the capital of Slovakia and one of the most famous cities on the Danube. Late evening arrival into Budapest.

Tour of Bratislava Get to know the Gothic-Baroque style. capital of the young Slovakian Republic on a walking tour. See St. Martin’s Cathedral, Town Hall and St. Michael’s Gate, the only city gate preserved from the medieval fortifications.

Day 9 - Budapest, Hungary Budapest, the “Queen of the Danube”, is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and has managed to retain a charm of its own with the help of renovations in recent years. The Danube flows through the heart of the city, dividing it into two parts: Buda and Pest. After dinner, the ship will sail a special evening cruise past the city’s beautifully lit riverfront.

Tour of Budapest See splendid Baroque buildings and enjoy a photo stop at the Heroes’ Square, famous for its monuments to many Hungarian kings. Once in Buda visit Matthias Church and the famous Fisherman’s Bastion. Duration approx. 3.5 hours
Day 10 - Budapest, Hungary (Disembarkation) Budapest is an amazing city with new adventures around every corner. Stay an additional day or two and experience one of the many spas that the city has been famous for since Roman times. (Additional post hotel nights available upon request.)

Salzburg Day Tour (from Passau) - September 2nd Enjoy a scenic drive from Passau to Salzburg (2 hrs) via the lake district to see some of the sights of the Sound of Music. Then, enjoy a guided city tour of Salzburg, followed by free time to have lunch and shop before departing back to the ship. A truly memorable day.

Bicycle Tour (from Melk to Durnstein) - Sept 3rd Enjoy a scenic bike tour from Melk to Durnstein. The ride is approximately 17.5 miles and it follows the river bank of the Danube. The route is generally flat and is surrounded by dramatic, mountainous scenery. The ride will be leisurely, with plenty of time to stop to enjoy a snack or grab a drink at one of the small villages along the way. Schedule permitting, the bike tour will finish with a walking tour of Durnstein.
