Day 1
You will travel independently to Kathmandu.
Wondering why Nepal is the perfect starting point? As a protected jewel, Bhutan has only a limited number of international flight connections, and Nepal offers one of the best gateways into the kingdom. Depending on your arrival time, you will be met at the airport and transferred to your hotel, where you can freshen up and relax after your journey.
In the evening, you will meet the other travelers and your guide during a welcome dinner - enjoy your meal!

Day 2
In the morning, you will discover Kathmandu.
At the famous Durbar Square, you can admire the royal palace, pagodas, and temples - true masterpieces of Nepalese wood carving. Afterwards, you will climb the many steps leading up to the Swayambhunath Stupa and visit the Museum of Nepali Art, home to an impressive collection of local artworks.
After enjoying lunch together, you will continue to Bhaktapur, where you will explore one of the most beautiful and atmospheric royal cities in the Kathmandu Valley.

Day 3
You begin the day at the impressive Boudhanath Stupa, the most important Buddhist sanctuary in Nepal. Here you can feel the spiritual atmosphere as prayer flags flutter in the wind.
Afterwards, you will immerse yourself in traditional craftsmanship at the Carpet Museum. The journey continues into Hinduism: at Pashupatinath, one of the most significant Hindu temples in the country, you will experience religion and rituals up close. In the afternoon, there is time for you to explore Kathmandu on your own or to discover more of its hidden corners together as a group.

Day 4
In the morning, you will transfer to Kathmandu Airport, where your flight to Paro takes you directly into the Kingdom of Bhutan. Your Bhutanese guide will warmly welcome you to the Land of the Thunder Dragon.
From Paro, you continue your journey to Thimphu, the only capital city in the world without traffic lights.
High above the city, you will visit the impressive Buddha statue and enjoy sweeping views over the valley. Before the day comes to an end, you will attend a cultural performance featuring graceful dancers in colorful traditional costumes.

Day 5
After breakfast, you will visit Changangkha Lhakhang Monastery, a temple dating back to the 12th century.
At the King’s Memorial Chorten, you can observe devotees turning the large prayer wheels - a special moment to immerse yourself in local spirituality. At the Textile Museum, you will then discover Bhutan’s vibrant and highly intricate weaving traditions. In the afternoon, you will lace up your hiking boots for a roughly two-hour walk on Sangaygang Hill. Along the way, you will enjoy fantastic views over the Thimphu Valley and visit the charming Wangditse Monastery, dating back to the 18th century - a perfect blend of activity, culture, and panoramic scenery.

Day 6
On your way to Punakha, the coach slowly winds its way up to Dochula Pass at 3,088 metres. In clear weather, you can admire the snow-covered peaks of the Himalayas from here - a truly breathtaking view that leaves a lasting impression. In Punakha, the former capital, you’ll visit the impressive Punakha Dzong, a traditional fortress also known as the Palace of Great Happiness. Perched on a hill above the town lies Chimi Lhakhang, the fertility temple, where couples come to pray for children of their own. Afterwards, a walk through the surrounding area offers a glimpse of rural life.

Day 7
After breakfast, you’ll embark on a two-hour hike up to the Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Chorten, perched high above the Punakha Valley. At noon, you’ll have a picnic lunch by the riverbank and admire the 160-metre-long Punakha suspension bridge, lined with colourful prayer flags. You’ll then continue to Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, a historic monastery fortress of great significance for Bhutan. The day concludes with a visit to a nearby nunnery close to your hotel, offering a insight into the region’s deep-rooted spiritual life.

Day 8
On your return to Paro, you’ll once again cross Dochula Pass with breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. In Paro, you’ll visit the impressive Paro Dzong - a fortress, monastery and administrative centre that also served as a filming location for the Hollywood movie "Little Buddha". To the north, majestic Mount Chomolhari rises above the valley. You’ll then visit a temple where a local lama performs a blessing ceremony. Listen to the prayers and mantras of the monks and let yourself be captivated by the peaceful and spiritual atmosphere.

Day 9
Like an eagle’s nest, Tiger’s Nest Monastery (Taktshang) clings to a cliff high above the Paro Valley.
According to legend, Guru Rinpoche arrived at the monastery riding on the back of a tigress - and you’ll follow the pilgrimage trail on foot. The hike takes 5–6 hours (challenging, approx. 800 metres of elevation gain) to reach one of Bhutan’s most important spiritual sites. From the top, there are breathtaking views across the valley - absolutely worth every step. In the evening, you’ll visit a local family and learn how to prepare ema datshi (a spicy cheese dish) and momos (a type of dumpling). During dinner afterwards, you’ll enjoy your own creations. Day 10

Hotel Olathang is perched on a hill, set amidst 28 acres of blue pine forests and greenery, about 3 miles outside of Paro. The hotel was established in 1974, for guests invited to the coronation of the Fourth King of Bhutan, making it one of Bhutan's oldest hotels.
