Day 2 Check out of the hotel this morning, then join us on a late morning walking tour of the old town including Diocletian’s Palace. We’ll then point out our luxurious yacht - the Black Swan - before giving you free time for lunch. We’ll board our yacht and set sail early this afternoon for the island of Brac where we’ll swim at one of the most famous beaches in Dalmatia, Zlatni Rat (Golden Horn beach). We’ll then continue to our first overnight stop, the small village of Milna where we’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail and dinner onboard.

Day 3 After breakfast, we depart Milna for Hvar. En route we’ll enjoy morning and afternoon swim stops and an included lunch. On arrival at Hvar we’ll head out for a guided tour followed by a free evening to explore. An optional dinner will be available.

Day 4 An early departure brings us to the quaint island of Biševo, where an optional visit to the Blue Caves awaits - providing the winds are in our favour. Our cruise then continues to the island of Vis, an isolated former Yugoslav naval base that captures the Mediterranean “as it once was”. Here, you can either pay to visit the remains of the Roman thermal baths, hit up the city museum or simply take in the free views of the beautiful rustic village on the waterfront. We overnight in the port, with an included BBQ dinner on board our ship.

Day 5 This morning we depart for Korcula - the birthplace of Marco Polo - and a favourite stop amongst Out Adventurers.
We’ll have a swim stop and lunch along the way, and upon arrival we’ll enjoy a late afternoon walking tour. Since it’s only a short distance to the yacht from anywhere in the old town, we encourage you to explore the area and its charming shops, bars and restaurants.

Day 6 After a leisurely swim stop this morning we enjoy lunch and yet another swim stop before arriving in Trstenik on the Pelješac peninsula. Here, we’ll head to a modern local winery that includes a tour of the grounds and cellar, followed by a luscious 3-course dinner paired with five pristine Croatian wines. Tonight we overnight in this quaint and charming town.

Day 7 Today we depart early, cruising to the island of Mljet after we have a morning swim stop. Once in Mljet, we’ll join our local guide for a stroll through the famous salt lakes of Mljet National Park. This visit includes a boat ride to St Mary Isle to visit an ancient monastery, an old abbey, and a church that dates back to the 12th century. If you’d like to get the blood flowing, you can also rent a kayak, bike or scooter to roam the park on your own. We’ll enjoy our Captain’s Dinner aboard the boat in Pomena, or another quaint village.

Day 8 This morning we depart early for the world-famous Dubrovnik, cruising past the old city walls while enjoying lunch onboard the yacht. We’ll dock in the new port given the large size of our vessel, then transfer into town for a guided walking tour. This will be followed by a cable car ride up Srd Mountain where we’ll soak up the scenic views of the Old City Walls and Elaphiti Islands. You’ll have some free time in town to wander before we meet at a central location for our gourmet Farewell Dinner.
Accommodation: Katarina Line M/V Rhapsody
Day 9 This morning we bid farewell to our faithful crew, and each other, as our adventure comes to an end. There are no activities planned, and we must disembark by 9AM. There will be a luggage storage option available for those with afternoon or evening flights, and we have a host hotel for those wishing to spend more time in this ancient city. Croatia Visa A visa is not required for American, Australian, British and Canadian citizens travelling to Croatia for fewer than 90 days. There may be exceptions, and all visas are the responsibility of the traveller.
Culture Shock Tourism in Croatia is well-developed enough to offer many of the luxuries of home. Not everyone you encounter will speak English, so we recommend you relax, have a sense of humour, and take it easy.
Local LGBT Scene in Croatia Homosexuality was legalized in 1977 in Croatia. While the LGBT community cannot marry, and homosexuality remains generally frowned upon, common-law marriage rights are given to same-sex couples who have been living together for over three years. There is also a small, but growing, gay scene in Croatia’s larger cities.
Weather July & August in Croatia can be scorching hot. Daytime highs are typically in the low 80's F (27C), but can easily rise up to 95F (35C). Evenings are typically a balmy 70F (21C) or so. There is also the possibility of rain, so bring along a small umbrella, and a waterproof outer layer.
Required Vaccinations Based on the entry requirements for Croatia, there are no vaccinations needed. To determine if you should take preventative measures to reduce the risk of illness, consult your doctor or a travel medical clinic… We cannot provide vaccination recommendations.
Electricity You will need an international travel plug/adapter for type F sockets.
Connectivity You will have Wi-Fi access through the trip, although on board our yacht, network speeds can be slow. Feel free to tweet, pin, post and share your experience with your friends and family at home. They might be a tad jealous!
Travel Insurance
For everybody’s peace of mind, medical travel insurance is required on all Out Adventures tours. At a minimum, your travel insurance must provide cover against personal accident, death, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability, with a minimum medical coverage of US $200,000.
Meals
To keep things simple, breakfasts and most other meals are included in the cost of your trip. There will be a few optional dinners at some of Croatia’s best restaurants on an opt-in basis.
Money
The local currency is the Croatian Kuna. We recommend carrying local currency for small purchases, however credit cards are accepted at hotels and most restaurants. However, your yacht bar bill can only be paid in cash (EUR, GBP, USD, CAD). We also recommend carrying approximately $400 USD, only to be used in the case of an emergency, or if your credit/ATM cards are placed on hold.
Tipping
On this tour we recommend budgeting approximately $150 USD to tip your local guide and ship crew. You will also want to budget tips for your bar bill as well as any meals and activities not included in the tour cost.
What to bring
Please keep your baggage under 20kg/44lb to avoid costly surcharges on domestic flights. You should also bring something smaller to carry a water bottle, your camera and souvenirs on day trips.
